Paediatric Sleep Consulting in Burlington

Certified paediatric sleep and potty training support for Burlington families, delivered in your home or virtually across Halton Region.

Burlington is consistently ranked among the best places in Canada to raise a family — and it earns that ranking. Population roughly 190,000, strong Halton District School Board and Halton Catholic systems, a lakeside-to-escarpment geography that produces meaningfully different home types across a single municipality, and a family demographic that skews older, more established, and more likely to be on a second or third child than the Ontario average.

That changes the design problem. Burlington families more often than not need a sleep plan that protects an older child’s already-established sleep while introducing a newborn — or a coordinated plan that works across two or three children at different stages simultaneously. That’s the work in Burlington more often than first-time-parent foundations.

Sleep Ready is a Canadian-certified paediatric sleep and potty training consultancy serving Burlington directly. I’m Milos — a twin dad, a 10+ year CPR and First Aid instructor, and a certified sleep consultant with four specializations from the Institute of Pediatric Sleep and Parenting: general paediatric sleep consulting, newborn sleep (0–3 months), special needs sleep, and child-centered potty training.

Who I work with in Burlington

Burlington families fall into a few recognizable groups, and the geography across this single municipality genuinely changes the sleep design problem.

Downtown & the lakeshore

Downtown, Roseland, Shoreacres, Pinedale, Longmoor, Elizabeth Gardens, the neighbourhoods hugging Lakeshore Road. Older character homes with older windows and HVAC, proximity to Lakeshore noise, and the early-summer light profile that comes with being near the lake.

Central Burlington

Brant Hills, Tyandaga, Mountainside, Palmer, Dynes. Typically mid-century homes, often the second or third family in the house, with the environmental variability that comes with older building stock.

North Burlington & Alton Village

Newer subdivisions built in the 2000s and 2010s — larger homes, better blackout potential, and the standard big-house challenges: nursery distance from parents, HVAC zoning, sibling coordination across multiple bedrooms.

Millcroft, Headon Forest, Orchard & Aldershot

Heavily established family neighbourhoods with strong school reputations, typically second- or third-child families with specific questions about sibling sleep coordination. Aldershot — the often-overlooked western edge — adds a unique escarpment-adjacent geography.

What we usually work on

What Burlington parents call about

Burlington parents are often, though not always, on their second or third child — which produces a specific pattern of sleep calls.

Newborn sleep — for the second or third baby

Particularly families delivering at Joseph Brant Hospital. The challenge here is usually about protecting the older children’s sleep while establishing the newborn’s — a different engagement than first-newborn support, and one I have a specific framework for.

The 4-month sleep regression

Reliably arriving on schedule around 16 to 20 weeks. Not actually a regression — a permanent neurological shift in how the baby sleeps.

Sleep training (4 to 18 months)

Often in households with existing sleep-trained older siblings, and therefore very specific questions about whether and how to apply the same approach. Sometimes the answer is yes; often it isn’t, and the new baby needs a calibrated variant.

Toddler & preschool sleep

Bedtime battles, early wakings, the crib-to-bed transition (particularly when a new baby is moving into the crib), night terrors, and the September daycare-germ overnight wake-up cluster.

Potty training (20 months – 4 years)

Child-centered, readiness-based — not the three-day internet methods. Burlington has strong daycare density in centres like Millcroft, Alton, and Orchard, and a share of my potty-training calls involve daycare-deadline pressure. I’ll help you push back on unrealistic timelines while still producing an outcome.

Special needs sleep

Neurodivergent and medically complex children, often connected into McMaster Children’s Hospital, Joseph Brant paediatric services, or GTA-based specialists. My role is to complement the medical and developmental team, not replace it.

In-home visits

In-home visits across Burlington

I offer in-home sleep consulting across all of Burlington, including:

  • Downtown
  • Roseland
  • Shoreacres
  • Pinedale
  • Longmoor
  • Elizabeth Gardens
  • Aldershot
  • LaSalle
  • Brant Hills
  • Tyandaga
  • Mountainside
  • Palmer
  • Dynes
  • Central Burlington
  • Headon Forest
  • Millcroft
  • Orchard
  • Alton Village
  • Alton East
  • Alton West
  • Rural Burlington

Don’t see your neighbourhood? Ask — I almost always say yes.

An in-home visit is typically 90 to 120 minutes and includes a full environmental audit, a second-sibling sleep-integration audit where relevant, and a written plan both parents and any regular caregivers can execute the same way.

Virtual option

Virtual consulting for Burlington families

Virtual consulting is delivered over secure video with written follow-up plans and text-based support between sessions. Outcomes are functionally equivalent to in-home for most presentations.

Many Burlington families choose virtual for scheduling flexibility, particularly families with multiple children where finding a quiet in-home session window is itself a challenge. The video format also makes it easier to include a grandparent or regular caregiver who isn’t in the home that day.

Sleep Ready × Life Safe

The right moment to refresh CPR & First Aid certification.

Burlington families on their second or third child often have existing First Aid and CPR training that’s lapsed, or grandparent caregivers whose certifications are decades old. Adding a baby to a household where everyone’s certification is current is a different kind of preparedness than adding a baby with no one in the house trained.

Life Safe is my sister practice offering paediatric-specific First Aid and CPR training. Sleep Ready offers integrated bundles combining sleep consulting with family First Aid certification — and many Burlington families find the bundle is the right moment to refresh caregiver certifications alongside the sleep work.

Credentials

The training behind the work

Four certifications from the Institute of Pediatric Sleep and Parenting — Pediatric Sleep Consulting (General), Newborn Sleep (0–3 months), Special Needs Sleep, and Child-Centered Potty Training. 10+ years as a CPR and First Aid instructor. Father of twins. All recommendations align with Canadian Paediatric Society guidance.

Burlington-specific FAQ

Common questions from Burlington parents

Do you work with Joseph Brant families?

Yes. A meaningful share of my Burlington newborn-sleep practice involves families delivering at Joseph Brant Hospital. I coordinate with your paediatrician where appropriate and never contradict medical guidance.

Can you help coordinate sleep for two (or three) siblings at once?

Yes — and multi-sibling sleep coordination is actually one of my strongest engagement types. The plan has to account for each child’s stage and the household’s actual capacity to implement across multiple bedtimes. You cannot run the same plan for a 9-month-old and a 4-year-old simultaneously, but you can build a coordinated plan that works for both at the same time.

Do you travel to Oakville from Burlington?

Oakville has a dedicated page and is part of my standard radius. Some in-home visits are available case-by-case; virtual outcomes are equivalent for most presentations.

Do you work with Halton Region developmental services families?

Yes. My role is to complement whatever developmental and medical team is already in place — paediatrician, OT, speech, behavioural therapist, or developmental paediatrician.

Evenings and weekends?

Yes. Virtual sessions available evenings; in-home visits available weekends subject to schedule.
