Terms of service
The terms of engagement when you work with Sleep Ready — what we provide, what you’re responsible for, how payment and cancellation work, and what the boundaries of our professional scope are.
The short version
These are the rules of the road for working with Sleep Ready. The important parts: we provide paediatric sleep and potty training consulting, not medical care. We can’t guarantee specific outcomes, because no one can. Once your initial consultation has taken place, the engagement is non-refundable, but we will always work in good faith to make it successful. Intellectual property in our materials belongs to us, though your written plan is yours to use for your family. Disputes go to Ontario courts, and we’d always rather resolve anything directly first. That’s the short version. The long version is below.
1. Your agreement to these Terms
By booking a discovery call, purchasing a package, downloading a free resource, or otherwise using sleepready.ca, you agree to these Terms of Service (the “Terms”). If you don’t agree with any part of these Terms, don’t use the site or book a service.
These Terms form a legally-binding agreement between you (“you,” “your,” or “the Client”) and Milos, operating as Sleep Ready (“we,” “us,” “our,” or “Sleep Ready”), a sole proprietorship registered in Ontario, Canada.
2. Who can use Sleep Ready
Sleep Ready’s services are sold exclusively to adults aged 18 or over who are the parent or legal guardian of the child or children to whom the service relates, or who have the parent’s or legal guardian’s explicit authorization to engage Sleep Ready on their behalf (for example, grandparents, nannies, or other authorized caregivers acting with parental consent).
By booking a service, you confirm that:
- You are at least 18 years old.
- You are the parent or legal guardian of the child involved in the engagement, or you are acting with the explicit consent of the parent or legal guardian.
- The information you provide to Sleep Ready is accurate and truthful to the best of your knowledge.
- You have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and to Sleep Ready’s Privacy Policy.
3. What Sleep Ready provides
Sleep Ready offers:
Paediatric sleep consulting for children aged 0 to approximately 5 years, across general paediatric sleep, newborn sleep (0–3 months), and special-needs sleep populations. Services are delivered by Milos, who holds relevant certifications from the Institute of Pediatric Sleep and Parenting.
Child-centered potty training support for toddlers aged approximately 20 months to 4 years.
Bundled programmes that combine Sleep Ready consulting with Life Safe First Aid and CPR training delivered under a single coordinated engagement.
Free resources including lead magnets, blog content, and a monthly newsletter, provided at no cost and covered by separate terms where applicable.
Discovery calls at no cost, used to determine fit before a service is purchased.
Specific package inclusions — including the number and duration of consultations, the duration of text-based support, and the deliverables — are described in full on the Packages page and are incorporated into these Terms by reference at the time you purchase a package.
4. Professional scope — what Sleep Ready is not
Sleep Ready is not a medical service. Milos is not a licensed physician, nurse, or other regulated health professional in Ontario or elsewhere. Sleep Ready’s services are educational and consultative in nature and do not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Sleep Ready is not a substitute for paediatric medical care. Your child’s paediatrician or family doctor is the appropriate first point of contact for medical concerns. If you have questions about your child’s health, medications, diagnoses, or developmental status, those questions belong with your medical team.
Sleep Ready does not diagnose medical conditions. This includes but is not limited to sleep disorders, developmental conditions, medical conditions that affect sleep (such as sleep apnea, reflux, or anaemia), mental health conditions, and autism spectrum disorder. If we observe something in an engagement that warrants medical or developmental assessment, we will recommend you seek it; we will not make the assessment ourselves.
Sleep Ready does not prescribe, modify, or stop medication. Medication decisions — including decisions about melatonin, stimulant ADHD medications, anti-seizure medications, or any other medication — are made solely by your prescribing physician. We may discuss observed patterns and general research, and we may communicate observations to your physician with your consent, but the prescribing decision remains with your physician.
In medical emergencies, call 911. Sleep Ready’s services, including text-based support, are not designed for emergency response. If your child is experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency department immediately.
In mental health crises, contact appropriate crisis support. Talk Suicide Canada (1-833-456-4566) is available 24/7 across Canada. Sleep Ready is not a crisis service.
In child safety concerns, contact child protective services. Your local Children’s Aid Society or, in Ontario, 310-1234, handles child protection matters. Sleep Ready does not.
By engaging Sleep Ready, you acknowledge and agree to each of the above.
5. No guarantee of specific outcomes
Paediatric sleep and potty training outcomes depend on many factors outside Sleep Ready’s control — your child’s individual temperament and neurology, your household structure, your consistency in applying the plan, your child’s health, seasonal and developmental variables, and many other factors. For this reason:
- Sleep Ready does not guarantee any specific outcome for any specific child.
- Timelines, improvements, and results described in our materials, testimonials, or engagements are illustrative, not promises.
- Testimonials describe individual experiences and are not predictive of your child’s experience.
- Sleep Ready’s work is genuine professional effort applied to your specific situation, with the best judgement and training we can bring. It is not a product with a guaranteed outcome.
You agree that you are purchasing Sleep Ready’s professional time, expertise, and effort — not a guaranteed result.
6. Your responsibilities as a client
For Sleep Ready’s work to be useful, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information about your child and household when asked.
- Inform Sleep Ready promptly of any relevant medical, developmental, or environmental changes during the engagement.
- Implement the plan as described, to the best of your ability, and communicate honestly when you’re struggling with implementation.
- Keep your child safe at all times. Sleep Ready provides guidance; you are responsible for your child’s immediate safety.
- Follow your paediatrician’s or other medical professional’s direction where it conflicts with any Sleep Ready guidance — medical guidance takes precedence.
- Attend scheduled consultations on time, or reschedule with reasonable notice.
- Use text-based support channels during the agreed support window and for their intended purpose (implementation-related questions about the plan), not for emergencies or off-scope matters.
- Pay invoices on the terms agreed at the time of booking.
7. Payment
Pricing. Pricing for each package is published on the Packages page and confirmed at the time of booking. All prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD) unless otherwise stated.
Payment methods. Payments are processed securely by Stripe, which accepts major credit and debit cards. Card details are entered on Stripe’s secure checkout and are never seen or stored by Sleep Ready.
Payment timing. Payment is due in full before the initial consultation for all single-payment packages. For packages offering a payment plan (Complete Programme, Special Needs Full Programme, and all bundles), a 2-instalment plan is available on request: 50% on booking, 50% within 30 days.
Taxes. Canadian taxes (HST in Ontario, or the applicable provincial sales tax) are added at checkout where required.
Late payment. If a scheduled instalment payment is not received within 7 days of the due date, Sleep Ready may pause the engagement (including text-based support) until payment is received. Sleep Ready may charge a reasonable reminder fee of up to $25 CAD for administrative costs associated with late payments.
8. Cancellation and refund policy
If Sleep Ready cancels before the initial consultation: You receive a full refund.
If you cancel before the initial consultation: You receive a full refund, less any direct costs already incurred (typically none).
Once the initial consultation has taken place: The engagement is non-refundable. We commit to working in good faith to make the engagement successful for you, which may include extending support windows, adding reset sessions at no charge, or rebuilding the plan if the first approach genuinely isn’t fitting.
Rescheduling. You may reschedule any session with at least 24 hours’ notice at no charge. Rescheduling requests made with less than 24 hours’ notice may result in a $50 CAD rescheduling fee if the time was reserved specifically and cannot be repurposed. Sleep Ready may reschedule sessions with reasonable notice when necessary — for example, if Milos or a member of Milos’s immediate family is ill.
No-shows. If you miss a scheduled consultation without contacting us, the session is considered used. We’ll reach out and do our best to accommodate a rescheduled session, but there is no automatic refund for a missed session.
Exceptional circumstances. In cases of serious illness, hospitalization, bereavement, or comparable life events, we’ll work with you to pause or adjust the engagement regardless of what the standard policy above says. Contact us directly at [email protected].
9. Text-based support
Most Sleep Ready packages include a window of text-based support between scheduled sessions. This support is designed for:
- Implementation-related questions about your written plan
- Observations about how the plan is working, for review and adjustment
- Quick troubleshooting of specific moments within the plan
Text-based support is not designed for:
- Medical emergencies (call 911)
- Mental health crises (call Talk Suicide Canada at 1-833-456-4566 or your local crisis line)
- Off-scope questions unrelated to the engagement
- Replacing scheduled consultations — substantial issues are better addressed in a scheduled call
Response times. During active engagement windows, Milos aims to respond to text-based support messages within business hours (typically same-day Monday through Friday, next-business-day response on weekends and Canadian statutory holidays). Sleep Ready is a single-sender practice; responses are thoughtful but not instant.
Support windows are defined by package. The specific number of days of text-based support included in your package is stated on the Packages page and confirmed at the time of booking. Support outside that window can be arranged as an add-on purchase.
10. Intellectual property
Sleep Ready’s materials. All content on sleepready.ca — including but not limited to blog posts, lead magnets, written sleep and potty training plans, observation logs, email newsletter content, educational materials, images, logos, and the Sleep Ready and Life Safe trade names — is owned by Milos and protected by Canadian and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
Your written plan. The written plan provided to you as part of a Sleep Ready engagement is licensed to you for use within your own family and household. You may print, store, and refer to it for as long as you find it useful. You may share it with other adults in your child’s daily caregiving circle (co-parents, grandparents, nannies) for the purpose of coordinated implementation.
What you may not do with Sleep Ready materials. You may not:
- Redistribute, resell, or publish Sleep Ready’s plans, lead magnets, or paid materials, in whole or in part, without express written permission.
- Use Sleep Ready’s content to train artificial intelligence or machine-learning systems.
- Copy, adapt, or create derivative works based on Sleep Ready’s content for commercial purposes.
- Remove copyright notices, watermarks, or attribution from any Sleep Ready materials.
- Represent Sleep Ready’s methodology as your own.
Permitted uses of blog content. You may quote, link to, and briefly reference Sleep Ready’s blog posts under fair-dealing principles of Canadian copyright law — for example, to share a link with a friend or to quote a passage in a review. Extended reproduction requires permission.
Testimonials and reviews you submit. If you submit a testimonial, review, comment, or other content to Sleep Ready (for example, via the contact form, social media, or by email), you grant Sleep Ready a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual licence to use, display, and share that content in Sleep Ready’s marketing materials, social media, and website — attributed to you only to the extent you agree to (typically first name and city, or anonymously).
11. Confidentiality
Information you share with Sleep Ready. Information you share during an engagement — including details about your child, your household, your medical context, and any other private information — is treated as confidential. We handle this information as described in our Privacy Policy, we don’t share it with anyone outside the service-providers specifically listed in the Privacy Policy, and we don’t use it in any testimonial or case study without your explicit written permission.
Information Sleep Ready shares with you. The specific methodology, frameworks, scripts, and proprietary materials shared with you during an engagement — including your written plan — are confidential to you and to your household caregiving circle. You agree not to share these materials with other families, other practitioners, or any public audience.
Exceptions. Confidentiality obligations do not apply to:
- Information you consent to be shared
- Information required to be disclosed by law (valid subpoena, court order, or equivalent)
- Information that must be disclosed to protect against imminent harm to a child (including child protection reporting obligations, which apply to all professionals working with children in Ontario)
- Information that enters the public domain through no breach of these Terms
12. Testimonials, reviews, and referrals
Providing a testimonial. We may ask for a testimonial or review at the end of an engagement. Providing one is always optional. Testimonials are published only with your consent, attributed as you request, and may be edited for length or clarity (with your approval of the edited version before publication).
Referral rewards. Sleep Ready does not currently offer cash referral rewards, which can create conflicts of interest in paediatric services. Referred families are welcome, and existing and past clients are welcome to refer freely and without compensation.
13. Your use of sleepready.ca
You agree not to:
- Use the site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the site, its servers, or any connected systems.
- Scrape, copy, or systematically extract content from the site beyond ordinary browser caching.
- Upload viruses, malware, or other harmful code to the site.
- Impersonate Sleep Ready, Milos, or any other person in your use of the site or in communications related to the site.
- Interfere with the site’s proper functioning, including through automated tools that generate excessive load.
Violation of any of the above may result in termination of any active engagement and, where applicable, legal action.
14. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the site and Sleep Ready’s services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.
Sleep Ready disclaims any warranty that:
- The site will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or available at any particular time.
- Information on the site is accurate, complete, or current at all times (while we work to keep it so, errors may occur).
- The services will produce any specific result.
- Any communication channel (email, text, scheduling tool) will be free of technical failure.
Sleep Ready’s materials are educational and consultative in nature. They are not a substitute for medical, mental health, developmental, or other professional advice from a licensed or regulated practitioner.
15. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
Sleep Ready’s total liability to you in connection with any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms, the website, or any services provided, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), statute, or otherwise, is limited to the amount you paid to Sleep Ready for the specific engagement giving rise to the claim in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Sleep Ready is not liable for:
- Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Loss of profits, loss of data, or loss of goodwill
- Harm resulting from your or any other adult’s failure to keep a child safe
- Harm resulting from medical decisions, which are the responsibility of your medical team
- Harm resulting from information or services obtained from third parties referenced or linked from the site
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by Canadian law.
16. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sleep Ready and Milos from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to:
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any third-party right, including intellectual property or privacy rights
- Your misuse of the site or Sleep Ready’s services
- Any content you submit to Sleep Ready
- Any harm arising from your failure to keep a child safe in connection with the implementation of a Sleep Ready plan
This indemnification does not apply to claims arising from Sleep Ready’s own proven negligence or willful misconduct.
17. Termination
You may end an active engagement at any time by notifying Sleep Ready in writing at [email protected]. Refunds (if any) follow the cancellation policy in Section 8.
Sleep Ready may end an active engagement in the following circumstances:
- You violate these Terms, including the Client Responsibilities in Section 6.
- You engage in abusive, threatening, or harassing conduct toward Milos or Sleep Ready.
- You request services outside Sleep Ready’s professional scope and we’re unable to reach a mutually acceptable adjusted scope.
- You repeatedly fail to pay invoices on time after reasonable notice.
- Continuing the engagement would, in Milos’s reasonable judgement, be contrary to the best interests of the child.
In any of the above, Sleep Ready will provide reasonable notice where possible and will refund any unused portion of the engagement proportionally, except in cases of client-side violation of these Terms, where refunds may be withheld to cover costs or damages.
18. Dispute resolution
We’d rather resolve things directly. If you have a concern or dispute, please email [email protected] first. Most concerns can be resolved through direct conversation within a week or two, and we’d genuinely prefer that path.
If direct resolution fails, the parties agree to attempt resolution through good-faith mediation with a mutually agreed-upon mediator in Ontario before proceeding to formal legal action. Mediation costs are shared equally unless the mediator allocates them otherwise.
If mediation fails, any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or Sleep Ready’s services will be resolved exclusively by the courts of the Province of Ontario, Canada, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
19. Governing law
These Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to them are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Ontario, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.
20. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make a material change:
- We’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
- We’ll notify active clients and email subscribers by email at least 14 days before a material change takes effect.
- Your continued use of the site or of Sleep Ready’s services after the effective date of the updated Terms constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
If you don’t agree with an updated version of the Terms, your option is to stop using the site and to discontinue any active engagement — the cancellation and refund policy in Section 8 applies.
21. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, or if that’s not possible, severed from these Terms. The remaining provisions continue in full force and effect.
22. Entire agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any specific package descriptions or written engagement agreements entered into at the time of booking, form the entire agreement between you and Sleep Ready regarding the subject matter addressed. They supersede any prior or contemporaneous agreements, communications, or understandings, whether oral or written, on that subject matter.
23. Contact
Questions about these Terms should be sent to [email protected] with “Terms” in the subject line. Replies typically arrive within 2 business days.
